Job summary

Behavioral Health Group (BHG) is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to support patients through recovery. You will conduct individual and group counseling, help develop personalized treatment plans, and connect clients with community resources.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule 5:00am–3:00pm with rotating Saturday shifts, $32 per hour plus a bonus structure, and a range of benefits including paid time off and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in human services or a related field.
• CAC I, CAC II, LGPC, LGSW, LICSW, or LPC license in Washington, DC.
• State-level requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling for people recovering from drug use and alcohol disorders.
• Welcome new and returning patients through intake and orientation.
• Connect patients with community resources and help them access the support they need.
• Follow up on referrals and perform necessary follow-ups.
• Foster an inclusive environment where every patient is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local regulatory agency requirements.
