Job summary

Behavioral Health Group (BHG) is seeking a Counselor to help patients identify strengths and work toward social, educational, and occupational goals. You will support drug-free life transitions, under supervision, and ensure policy and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include counseling, intake, treatment planning, referrals, and collaboration with community providers. BHG offers growth, incentives, and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to make decisions and use proper judgment with confidential and sensitive issues.
• Handle stressful situations and seek direction from supervisors when necessary.
• React quickly and make effective decisions.
• Show understanding of human behavior to rehabilitate drug-dependent patients.
• Knowledge of substance abuse populations, treatment planning and social services.
• Compliance with federal and state certification, licensure and degree requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct alcohol and drug abuse counseling sessions and group sessions.
• Orient patients to treatment operations and procedures.
• Collect and assess social, educational, economic, and vocational information.
• Develop and revise patient treatment plans and maintain records.
• Make referrals and perform follow-ups.
• Assist in program implementation and caseload management.
• Provide in-service training and crisis awareness.
