Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is offering a Summer Internship in Platform Systems Engineering and Integration. The program provides exposure across engineering disciplines, with assignments that may include requirements verification, system integration challenges, CONOPS development, MBSE, and NAVSEA coordination.

Interns work full-time (40 hours/week) for 8 consecutive weeks between May 2027 and September 2027 at Groton CT, New London CT, or other Eastern locations, not remote.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university.
• US citizenship is required.
• Must be able to pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week for a minimum eight (8) consecutive weeks between May 2027 to September 2027.
• Pursuing a Bachelor or Masters of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer or SW Engineering, Systems Engineering

Responsibilities

• Requirements development and verification.
• Resolution of technical integration challenges.
• Test program development.
• Concept of operations (CONOPS) development.
• Interface management.
• Model based systems engineering (MBSE).
• Multi-discipline Major Area Team (MAT) spatial arrangement and integration.
• Electronic Visualization System (EVS) Meetings to review 3-D model arrangements.
• NAVSEA Customer interaction and coordination of approval of the 3-D model arrangements.
