Job summary

Austal USA is seeking a qualified planner/scheduler to define activities, budgets, and schedule logic in line with EVMS guidelines. The role involves establishing sequencing for structural components and building location planning based on capacity and strategy.

You will review drawings for producibility, support baseline changes, and help transfer scope to subcontractors. The position requires collaboration across Planning, Production, Project, Scheduling, and Engineering departments.

Qualifications

  • - BS Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business Admin, or Construction Management) or 1 year experience at Austal USA or a comparable shipyard.
  • - Minimum 1 year planning experience (preferred: division of work scope within modules, across stages of construction, with material and budget allocation).
  • - Aptitude to learn shipyard planning; Cognitive Criteria Aptitude Test score of 20+.

Responsibilities

  • Define activities, budgets and schedule logic per EVMS guidelines and reference similar work.
  • Establish sequencing, usage phase and build location for structural components.
  • Review drawings for producibility and content completeness.
  • Assist with baseline changes, work package processing and applying subcontractor scope.
  • Populate planning database with work scope items and attributes (location, budget, drawings, product types).
  • Assist work package makers with processing shop orders.
