Job summary

Austal USA is adding two Project Coordinator III's to join the team in support of the Submarine Program, one day shift and one night shift.

The role reports to the Project Manager and requires strong coordination, EVMS proficiency and shipbuilding experience. The candidate will work on-site in Mobile, AL, with regular meetings and close collaboration across departments to ensure milestones and cost targets are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in shipbuilding or similar industrial environment, with at least 3 years at Foreman level (or 2 years as Level II Project Coordinator).
• Ability to read and interpret shipbuilding contracts, specs and regulatory guides.
• Experience using and interpreting EVMS data and scheduling tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and related software.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct functional project leads to meet milestones, cost and schedule targets.
• Mentor lower-level Coordinators and staff as needed.
• Mediate and resolve production sequence conflicts affecting cost/schedule.
• Monitor work in progress for safety, progress and performance; attend meetings.
• Validate status reporting against actual work to support EVMS processes.
