Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat offers a Summer Internship in Material Control/Logistics in Groton, CT. Interns will work with senior staff, contribute to submarine module construction, and learn through a mentor-driven program.

You will engage with engineers, shipyard personnel, and Navy customers to develop innovative solutions for design, construction, and in-service challenges, gaining hands-on experience in material control and logistics.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• US citizenship is required
• Must pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week for 8 consecutive weeks
• Pursuing a Bachelor or Masters in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics

Responsibilities

• Support construction of submarine modules for COLUMBIA and VIRGINIA classes in a mentor-led environment
• Assist in management of design and construction activities and development of KPIs
• Contribute to data and project reporting, material availability analysis and schedules
• Engage with engineers, designers, service departments, shipyard personnel, and Navy customers
• Develop solutions to design, new construction and in-service problems on nuclear submarines
