Job summary

Arcfield is seeking a Submarine Combat Systems Engineer to help shape future capabilities for the Navy’s AN/BYG-1 system. This role suits an experienced submarine Fire Control Technician, combat systems operator, or engineer who understands how weapons, sensors, and payloads come together in an operational environment.

You will bring real-world fleet experience into research, development, testing, and engineering efforts that support future submarine combat capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of relevant submarine experience; Master's with 3-5 years; Doctorate with 0-2 years.
• Direct submarine operational and combat systems experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D, testing, and engineering activities for future submarine combat systems and payloads.
• Provide an operational submarine perspective on requirements, missions, and CONOPS.
• Translate fleet experience into actionable technical recommendations for engineers and program stakeholders.
• Develop and review white papers, system requirements, CONOPS, training guides, and other documentation for Future Naval Capabilities.
• Participate in OPEX/ COOPEX, technical demonstrations, and evaluation events.
• Interact with fleet operators, Chief Engineers, Technical Project Managers, and program office liaisons to communicate progress and direction.
• Support evaluation of submarine missile and torpedo systems and payloads.
• Train and mentor teammates across the project team.
