Job summary

AXA XL in the United States seeks a Risk Engineer for Subcontractor Default Insurance. You will provide construction risk consulting to underwriters, claims and contractor partners, aiming to reduce overall cost of risk and improve controls across the SDI program.

Responsibilities include lifecycle support, risk improvement, claims review and protocol development, with travel 25–40% and remote collaboration with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Direct construction experience across contractor or subcontractor environments.
• Understanding of the full construction lifecycle: preconstruction, estimating, project management and closeout.
• Ability to consult diverse clients on construction management practices and controls.

Responsibilities

• Consult underwriters, claims and partners to support the SDI program lifecycle.
• Provide risk improvement recommendations tailored to customer needs and reduce cost of risk.
• Support notices of claim including review of default circumstances and actions.
• Develop protocols and tools to keep SDI ahead of industry solutions.
• Travel as needed (25–40%) and collaborate across teams remotely.
