Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a Risk Engineer with construction management expertise to support the Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI) program. You will consult with underwriters, claims, and contractor partners to assess risks, manage claims, and drive cost reductions across the SDI lifecycle.

A bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management is required, with extensive construction experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Extensive direct construction experience across contractor/subcontractor roles.
• Strong understanding of the construction project lifecycle including preconstruction, estimating, purchasing, project management and closeout.
• Able to communicate technical information to diverse audiences and influence actions.
• Self-starter with ability to manage schedule/resources in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide risk engineering consultation to underwriters, claims manager, and SDI partners.
• Support risk engineer colleagues in assessing lessons learned and improving cost of risk.
• Evaluate contractor customer risks and controls for SDI program success.
• Manage subcontractor default claims with insureds; document and resolve efficiently.
