Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Colorado is seeking a Subcontracts Manager to oversee NGMS subcontract on the CPS program. You will manage cost, schedule and technical performance, coordinating with technical, program, contracts, and finance leads to ensure milestones are met and compliant with FAR/DFAR.

You will lead a cross‑functional team of engineers, quality and procurement professionals, guide sourcing strategies, and act as the main focal point to the subcontractor and PMO.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lead subcontract management activities as Purchasing agent/Buyer/Manager.
  • Working knowledge of standard contract types.
  • Experience leading subcontract management team.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and cross-functional teams.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR policies.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage NGMS subcontract to meet technical, schedule, and cost requirements.

This role is specifically for managing NGMS subcontract on the CPS program. Roles and responsibilities include the management of NGMS to ensure they are meeting their Technical, Schedule, and contractual requirements and cost management. Individual will need to work closely with Technical, Program, Contracts, and Finance leads and will be part of a larger subcontracts management team including another SPM, SCM, and SCA.

Manages subordinate teams overseeing subcontractors or critical subcontracted systems for all contract types and programs, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and company policies. Directs and manages all costs, quality, schedule, financial, and technical performance requirements that are levied on the subcontractor or the product family and is required to ensure performance and support of the contract milestones of the system. Develops sourcing and subcontract program management strategic plans that address overall program capture needs, execution, and risk management. Acts as the main focal point to the subcontractor and program management office. Responsible for and directs all phases of the subcontract from initiation of the business case for make or buy decisions through requests for proposals, transition to program startup, subcontract management plans, negotiation strategy, cost accountability, program execution, and contract closeout. Makes informed decisions affecting the performance of the subcontractor. Establishes milestone objectives to manage performance to committed schedules and contractual specifications. Leads a cross‑functional team, normally composed of engineers, quality, and procurement personnel, to ensure successful subcontract execution and program delivery.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Ability to lead activities to execute Supply Chain subcontracts and sourcing activities in an executing capacity as a Purchasing agent/Buyer/Subcontract Administrator/Manager.
  • Working knowledge of standard contract types.
  • Experience leading subcontract management team
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and cross functional teams.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Knowledge of acquisition policies and procedures associated with FAR / DFAR requirements.
  • Strong work ethic, good communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated communication, negotiation, presentation and documentation skills.
  • Experience solving complex problems
  • Experience working independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills
  • Ability to travel to support ensure supplier performance
  • Must be a United States citizen and be able to obtain a Secret government security clearance

  • Prior experience with Lockheed Martin Acquisition Procedures (LMAP), Commercial Acquisition Procedures (CAP), local Site Work Instructions, and Command Media
  • Experienced in CAM duties

  • Experience with the procurement of specialized materials, complex assemblies, and equipment within Defense or Aerospace industries.

Pay Information

Full‑Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00
