Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Colorado is seeking a Subcontract Manager to oversee supplier cost, schedule and technical performance on complex programs. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, develop subcontract specs, and manage bids, awards and contract changes within LM and FAR guidelines.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with several years of procurement experience, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain DoD clearance.

This Role Will Offer You The Following Daily Challenges

Responsible for the management of supplier cost, schedule and technical performance on moderate-to-high-risk, modified Commercial Off The Shelf, performance specification and complex build-to-print subcontracts for commercial, DOD and international programs. Leads multifunctional subcontract management teams. Holds procurement delegation and signs supplier agreements and purchase orders within established authority. Leads the development of subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and services for subcontract systems in support of development, production and global sustainment primes with multiple contract types. Prepares bid packages, conducts bidders' conferences, develops evaluation criteria, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions including price, selects or recommends subcontractors, writes subcontract packages, prepares awards and administers resulting subcontracts and required change activity.

Basic Qualifications

To be successful, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education,
  • 3+ years of professional experience,
  • Previous professional experience leading negotiations with suppliers to ensure cost and schedule objectives are captured in contractual commitments
  • Previous professional experience with the procurement and management of specialized materials, complex assemblies, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of standard acquisition policies and procedures
  • You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to OBTAIN and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and contracting types
  • In-depth knowledge of all types of contracts and how to utilize which type in various program scenarios
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and changes in deadlines
  • Experience with long-form subcontracts utilizing Lockheed Martin Acquisition Procedures (LMAP)
  • Aerospace program negotiation skills and experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and work well under pressure
  • Experienced presenter to Program Management and Customer representative
  • Self Motived with a demonstrated sense of urgency and ownership, and accountability for tasks/assignments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of management
  • Ability to be flexible and accept change
  • Must be able to resolve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment; ability to analyze a problem and recommend solutions by exercising sound problem-solving skills
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $72500.00 - $134600.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
