Montana State University - Office of Sponsored Programs seeks a Subaward Manager to provide financial and administrative support for outgoing subawards. The role ensures compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies, serving as the primary resource for subrecipient monitoring and agreements.

The position involves managing the full lifecycle of subawards, coordinating with MSU units, and supporting audits and sponsor reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, or related field.
• Experience with administrative and accounting principles.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and diplomacy with staff and sponsors.
• Proficient with Outlook, Excel, Word and basic database use.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and training on subaward management requirements.
• Develop policies, procedures, and training materials for subrecipient monitoring.
• Serve as SME for outgoing subawards and subcontract administration.
• Manage full lifecycle of outgoing subawards from issuance to closeout.
• Maintain electronic records for a large portfolio of subawards.
• Draft, negotiate, and execute subaward agreements and amendments.
• Review award terms to determine subrecipient requirements.
• Ensure subaward agreements comply with regulations (2 CFR Part 200).
• Coordinate with MSU units for subaward invoice review.
• Coordinate with compliance and tech transfer to ensure subrecipients comply.
• Manage SAM.gov registration and FFATA reporting.
• Support audits and sponsor reviews involving subrecipient monitoring.
