Job summary

Valmont Industries in Tulsa, OK seeks an experienced welder to operate a sub-arc welding system, weld and grind shafts, and repair defects before inspection. You will follow supervisor directions and ensure quality and timely production in a heavy manufacturing setting.

The role requires an AWS qualification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and several years of welding experience; strong math skills and familiarity with U.S. and metric measurements are valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; AWS welding qualification required.
• Minimum 3 years in heavy manufacturing or one year via trade school.
• Knowledge of welding properties of various metals; welding procedures knowledge is essential.
• Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics; US and metric measurements.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the sub-arc welder.
• Weld, grind, and repair shafts prior to inspection by Quality Inspectors.
• Repair all seaming defects as directed by Quality Inspectors.
• Maintain safety and actively participate in department safety practices.
