Job summary

Valmont Group in Tulsa, OK is seeking a skilled welder to operate a sub-arc welding system, perform gouging and grinding, and prepare shafts for ultrasonic inspection.

You will weld, grind, and repair shafts, maintain quality, adhere to safety policies, and support timely production. A High School Diploma and AWS welding qualification are required, with 3 years of heavy manufacturing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• AWS welder qualification test required.
• 3 years of experience in heavy manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of welding properties of various metals and alloys.
• Familiar with Valmont quality procedures, standards and practices.
• Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics (U.S. and metric).

Responsibilities

• Move pole shafts into seaming processor as directed by supervisor.
• Weld, grind, and repair shafts before inspection by Quality Inspectors.
• Repair seaming defects as directed by Quality Inspectors.
• Operate sub-arc welder and maintain tools/equipment.
• Ensure timely delivery of a quality, on-time product; uphold safety rules.
• Perform other duties as directed by leaders and management.
