Job summary

University of New England seeks an Art Studio Coordinator to oversee UNE’s art studio spaces and the Object Learning Lab. The role ensures safe, well‑maintained studios and effective use for instructional purposes, including equipment maintenance and coordinating supply needs.

Half-time, with scheduling flexibility; hours Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. The position supports faculty and students and fosters a collaborative, creative environment on UNE's campuses in Maine.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or related field with 3+ years in studio management and art practices.
• Experience training or supervising student workers, interns, or staff.
• Ability to teach or assist in studio-based or digital media courses; workshop facilitation preferred.
• Proficient in operation and maintenance of studio tools and equipment in traditional and digital media.

Responsibilities

• Manage studio access, scheduling, and operations to maximize utilization and minimize disruptions.
• Maintain and repair studio equipment, tools, and facilities with UNE Facilities and vendors.
• Coordinate inventory of art supplies and equipment; track materials for courses and student projects.
• Prepare studios and provide technical assistance and training for students and faculty.
