Job summary

The Art Studio Coordinator at University of New England oversees UNE’s art studio spaces and the Object Learning Lab, ensuring safety, maintenance, and optimal use for classes and creative projects.

You will manage equipment, organize supplies, supervise student workers, and collaborate with faculty on curriculum delivery, events, and exhibitions, with a flexible half-time schedule Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or related field with 3+ years experience in studio management and art practices.
• Proven ability to train or supervise student workers, interns, or staff.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining studio tools across traditional and digital media.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety protocols and RCRA compliance for studio materials.
• Ability to plan budgets, track inventory, and coordinate vendor orders.

Responsibilities

• Manage studio access, scheduling, and operations to maximize utilization and minimize disruptions.
• Maintain and repair studio equipment, tools, and facilities in collaboration with UNE Facilities.
• Prepare studio spaces and equipment in advance of classes and activities; provide training.
• Coordinate art events, exhibitions, and community engagement activities.
• Monitor safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Supervise undergrad student assistants and work‑study students.
