Responsibilities

  • Welcome the Guest — Assist students, employees, and visitors at the RSC Info Desk with questions, directions, and general information.
  • Know the Building — Help monitor RSC spaces and identify facility, cleanliness, safety, or operational concerns.
  • Keep It Ready — Help maintain clean, organized, welcoming public spaces and address or report issues when needed.
  • Stay Connected — Communicate with Building Operations Supervisors and other RSC staff through radios, Teams, email, and verbal updates.
  • Spot the Problem — Identify and report on maintenance, safety, security, or guest concerns to the appropriate staff.
  • Support the Team — Assist Building Operations Supervisors and collaborate with Event Services, Marketing Services, custodial staff, and other building partners.
  • Jump In & Help — Complete assigned operational tasks and adapt to the changing needs of a busy student center.

PAY & GROWTH

Starting at $10.50/hour, with opportunities to earn wage increases within your first year through continued employment, training, professional development, and demonstrated performance.

Must be awarded federal or state work‑study through Financial Aid May work up to 19 hours per week during the semester May work full‑time during breaks and summer if returning in the fall Must not work during scheduled class times Positions are limited to the amount awarded and must follow program guidelines

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships offer opportunities to teach, conduct research, or assist in academic departments while continuing your graduate education.

To qualify, students must:

  • Be fully admitted to a graduate program (not provisional or non‑degree)
  • Be in good standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Be enrolled in courses each term of the assistantship
  • Meet specific credit hour and subject requirements for teaching or lab roles
  • Non‑native English speakers must demonstrate language proficiency
  • Research assistants must completes Responsible Conduct in Research training
  • Work up to 20 hours per week, depending on the appointment
  • May have teaching or research assignments, or provide administrative support
