Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities: This position is employed to imagine, create, and distribute any form of marketing/advertising needed for the department’s events/programs/building notices/etc.

Primary Duties
  • Design various print and digital marketing using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Canva.
  • Utilize Lightroom, Premiere Pro, or other platforms to create projects.
  • Print, cut, laminate, and distribute/deliver posters and signage for departmental needs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies and initiatives for Campus Recreation programs, facilities, services, and business operations.
  • Meet project deadlines so that events are properly advertised.
  • Collaborate with the others in the marketing program to complete assigned tasks on time.

Department Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming and assisting Campus Recreation participants, answering questions accurately and professionally, addressing concerns in a courteous manner, and creating a positive, engaging environment for all patrons and participants.

Market Campus Recreation and area events.

Demonstrate a commitment to providing an environment where people feel welcomed, valued, supported, and respected as they work to pursue their academic and professional goals.

Attend all department and area trainings and meetings as assigned.

Keep up to date on all TrainTraq assignments.

Maintain a standard of conduct while participating in Campus Rec activities or facilities, serving as a role model for other patrons by adhering to all safety, behavior, and policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Assists with department events and programming as needed.

Work early morning, night and weekend hours as needed.

Minimum Qualifications for Considerations
  • Demonstrated understanding, experience, and skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Canva.
  • Portfolio showcasing graphic design experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Work or academic course experience in photography, videography, marketing, graphic design, advertising, or public.
  • Understand branding guidelines and principles.
  • Possess excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to task switch and complete projects in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Good organization and computer skills.

Work-study positions are need-based jobs funded through federal or state financial aid programs and allow students to earn money to help pay for educational expenses. Must be awarded federal or state work-study through Financial Aid May work up to 19 hours per week during the semester May work full-time during breaks and summer if returning in the fall Must not work during scheduled class times Positions are limited to the amount awarded and must follow program guidelines

Graduate assistantships offer opportunities to teach, conduct research, or assist in academic departments while continuing your graduate education. To qualify, students must: Be fully admitted to a graduate program (not provisional or non-degree) Be in good standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA Be enrolled in courses each term of the assistantship Meet specific credit hour and subject requirements for teaching or lab roles Non-native English speakers must demonstrate language proficiency Research assistants must complete Responsible Conduct in Research training Work up to 20 hours per week, depending on the appointment May have teaching or research assignments, or provide administrative support
