Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit seeks a trade-specific Student Worker for facilities maintenance for the 2026-2027 year, assisting on HVAC, plumbing and electrical tasks across campuses. You must be enrolled at the Technical College High School Pennocks Bridge campus and ready to perform hands-on troubleshooting and repairs.

Responsibilities include clerical support to Facilities staff, data entry and coordination, with up to 20 hours per week, schedule 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in TCHS Pennocks Bridge program through CCIU.
• Senior year student preferred for scheduling and responsibilities.
• HVAC, Electrical Occupations, or Carpentry trades preferred.
• Clerical skills including word processing, typing, data entry and proofreading.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to routine tasks.
• Strong energy, motivation and openness to feedback.

• Provide trades-specific support to the lead Technician and Facilities staff.
• Provide clerical support to Facilities Technician and Buildings and Grounds Supervisor.
• Provide clerical support to Technician and/or Buildings and Grounds Supervisor.
• Back-up clerical support in Facilities as needed and other duties as assigned.

Job description

Effective for the 2026-2027 school year, a vacancy exists for trade specific Student Worker for facilities maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical within the Administrative Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. The selected candidate will assist facilities staff with hands on trouble shooting, repairs, and/or replacement, at various campuses. The successful candidate must currently be enrolled at the Technical College High School Pennocks Bridge campus.

Qualifications

• Current student in TCHS Pennocks Bridge program through CCIU required
• HVAC, Electrical Occupations, or Carpentry trades preferred
• Student enrolled in senior year preferred
• Clerical skills, including word processing, typing, data entry, and proofreading
• Recommendation and permission from high school guidance office
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts in the performance of routine
• High energy and motivation level

Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide trades specific support to the lead Technician and other Facilities staff as needed
• Provide clerical support to Facilities Technician and Buildings and Grounds Supervisor as needed.
• Provide clerical support to Technician and or Buildings and Grounds Supervisor
• Provide clerical support to and back-up in the Facilities as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Salary

$14.00 per hour

Schedule

Up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
