Job summary

Qualifications

  • Waubonsee student enrolled in at least one credit.
  • GPA 2.0 or above.
  • Good standing with Student Conduct.
  • Ability to work 10-20 hours per week.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Ability to work with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome students, employees and community members in a professional, friendly and inclusive manner.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors to the Office of Equity, Belonging and Servingness.
  • Provide accurate information regarding campus resources, student support services, programs and events.
  • Answer general questions and refer students to appropriate campus departments and services.
  • Assist students in navigating campus resources that support their development.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of educational programs, workshops and events.
  • Support initiatives coordinated by the Office of Equity, Belonging and Servingness and the Latinx Resource Center.
  • Assist with event logistics, including room setup, registration, technology, photography and clean-up.
  • Represent the office during campus events, orientations, fairs and outreach activities.
  • Create promotional materials including flyers, newsletters, digital signage and social media content.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to ensure branding and messaging consistency.
  • Capture photos and videos during approved events for promotional purposes.

The student worker for Equity,Belonging and Servingness (EBS) represents the office and helps foster aninclusive, supportive, and student-centered campus environment.
The Student Worker supportsdaily office operations by welcoming students, connecting them with campusresources, assisting with programs and events, promoting engagement, andsupporting initiatives for historically underserved and underrepresentedstudent populations, including first-generation students, students of color,adult learners, multilingual students, parenting students, veterans, studentswith disabilities, LGBTQ students, low-income students, and others who maybenefit from additional support.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Welcome students, employees, and communitymembers in a professional, friendly, and inclusive manner.

  • Assist with event logistics, including room setup, registration, technology, photography, and clean-up.
  • Represent the office during campus events, orientations, resource fairs, and outreach activities.
  • Assist with creating promotional materialsincluding flyers, newsletters, digital signage, and social media content.
  • Work collaboratively with the Office of Marketingand Communications to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
  • Capture photos and videos during approved eventsfor promotional purposes.
  • Promote office programs and student successinitiatives through digital and print communications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Waubonsee student enrolled in at least one credit.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or above.
  • Be in good standing with StudentConduct.
  • Ability to work 10-20 hours perweek.
  • Biluingual and Biliterate in English and Spanish.
  • Demonstratedcommitment to fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and respectfulenvironment for students from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
  • Ability to work effectively with students from multicultural, multilingual,first-generation, and historically underserved communities whilemaintaining professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality.
