Job summary

Casino High School, part of the NSW Department of Education, is seeking a Student Support Officer to support student wellbeing and learning outcomes. The role works with the wellbeing team and school counselling service to deliver targeted wellbeing programs and pathways to external support services.

The position requires a diploma or higher in social work, youth work, welfare or related field, a WWCC, and knowledge of Aboriginal education policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policies.
• Valid and current Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Responsibilities

• Enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes in partnership with the wellbeing team and the school counselling service.
• Provide individual and targeted wellbeing support and whole-of-school wellbeing initiatives and programs.
• Collaborate with external agencies and create referral pathways for students and families to child and family support agencies.
