Job summary

NSW Department of Education in NSW is seeking a Student Support Officer to enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes within Albion Park High School. You will work with the wellbeing team and counselling services to deliver targeted support and whole-school wellbeing initiatives.

Essential requirements include a diploma or higher qualification in social work, youth work, or welfare, and a valid WWCC. Aboriginal education policies knowledge is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in social work, youth work, welfare or related discipline.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policies.
• Valid and current Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Responsibilities

• Student Support Officers work within the school community to enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes in partnership with the wellbeing team and the school counselling service.
• They provide individual and targeted wellbeing support and whole-of-school wellbeing initiatives and programs that are evidence-based.
• They collaborate with external agencies and create referral pathways for students and families to child and family support agencies.
