Job summary

Carinity Education Gladstone is seeking passionate Youth Workers – Student Wellbeing to join our supportive team. You will work closely with students, teachers, families and support services to promote wellbeing, engagement and success.

This role includes mentoring, behavioural support and collaboration with the school community. There is a permanent part-time position (76 hours per fortnight, term time only) and casual opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Youth Work or equivalent qualification.
• Senior First Aid certificate.
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
• Current driver’s licence (LR) or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Build positive and supportive relationships with students as a trusted mentor and role model.
• Provide wellbeing and behavioural support within a trauma-informed framework.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external agencies to support individual student needs.
• Facilitate wellbeing activities, lunchtime programs, excursions and community engagement.
• Encourage resilience, positive participation and personal growth.
• Maintain accurate case notes, records and reporting requirements.
• Drive the school bus for student activities (LR licence required or willing to obtain).
