Job summary

Canowindra High School seeks a dedicated Student Support Officer to promote student wellbeing and learning outcomes in partnership with the wellbeing team and counselling services. You will provide individual support and contribute to whole-school wellbeing initiatives.

The role requires a diploma or higher qualification in social work, youth work, or welfare, along with a WWCC. A pro-active approach to referrals and collaboration with external agencies is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in social work, youth work, welfare or related discipline.
• Knowledge of the Department’s Aboriginal education policies.
• Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and targeted wellbeing support and collaborate with the wellbeing team and school counselling service.
• Work with the school to implement whole-school wellbeing initiatives and programs.
• Develop referral pathways and liaise with external agencies and child and family support services.
