Maryville University is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centered Student Well-being Case Manager to help students navigate complex situations, connect with resources, overcome barriers, and achieve their academic and personal goals.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Disability Support & Title IX / Title IX Coordinator, this position serves as a central resource within the Division of Student Affairs, providing holistic case management, coordinated care, crisis support, advocacy, and referral services that promote student wellbeing, retention, persistence, belonging, and overall student success.

This role is ideal for a professional passionate about helping students, building meaningful relationships, coordinating support systems, and fostering a campus culture where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

What You'll Do
Student Well-being Case Management & Coordinated Support
  • Provide individualized case management support for students experiencing barriers that impact their well-being, academic success, or overall functioning.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized support plans.
  • Connect students with campus and community resources that address:
    • Mental health and emotional well-being
    • Medical and health-related concerns
    • Housing and food insecurity
    • Financial hardship and basic needs
    • Academic distress
    • Family and relationship challenges
    • Crisis situations and life transitions
    • Pregnancy and parenting-related needs
  • Coordinate ongoing follow-up, advocacy, referrals, and wraparound support services to promote successful outcomes.
Pregnancy & Parenting Support Services
  • Serve as the university lead for Pregnancy & Parenting Support Services.
  • Coordinate support, advocacy, referrals, education, and accommodation-related processes for pregnant and parenting students.
  • Collaborate with Disability Support, Student Health & Counseling Services, Title IX, faculty, and other campus partners to ensure equitable access and support.
  • Develop resources, communication materials, and outreach efforts that increase awareness and accessibility of available services.
Crisis Response & Student Advocacy
  • Respond to student well-being concerns and situations requiring intervention, support coordination, and referral management.
  • Collaborate with Public Safety, Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), Student Health & Counseling Services, faculty, and community providers to support student stabilization and continuity of care.
  • Serve as a trusted advocate for students navigating university systems, policies, and support resources.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, communication, and follow-up while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
Prevention Education & Outreach
  • Design and facilitate workshops, presentations, outreach initiatives, and educational programming focused on:
    • Student wellbeing
    • Mental health awareness
    • Help-seeking behaviors
    • Basic needs support
    • Healthy relationships
    • Resilience and coping skills
    • Pregnancy and parenting support
    • Holistic wellness
  • Partner with campus departments to create proactive programs that strengthen student support systems and foster a culture of care and belonging.
  • Provide consultation and training to faculty, staff, student leaders, and campus partners regarding student well-being concerns and referral processes.
Campus & Community Partnerships
  • Build strong relationships with campus departments and community organizations throughout the St. Louis region.
  • Strengthen referral networks and improve student access to services and resources.
  • Collaborate closely with:

    • Life Coaches
    • Residential Life
    • Faculty and Academic Leadership

    • Community Mental Health Agencies

  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case consultations, behavioral intervention discussions, and student support initiatives.
Assessment & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records and documentation.
  • Support program assessment, reporting, utilization tracking, and evaluation efforts.
  • Remain current on emerging trends, legal considerations, and best practices related to student wellbeing, case management, and higher education support services.
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of student support systems and wellbeing initiatives.
Required Qualifications
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Higher Education, Public Health, Human Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of student support services, case management practices, and coordinated care models.
  • Understanding of student wellbeing, mental health concerns, crisis intervention, and referral processes.

  • Strong commitment to student success, wellbeing, belonging, and equitable access.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Higher Education, Public Health, Student Affairs, or a related field.
  • Two to three years of professional experience in case management, student support services, behavioral intervention, counseling support, higher education, or related wellbeing work.
  • Experience working directly with college students.
  • Experience in prevention education, outreach programming, crisis response, and community resource coordination.
  • Familiarity with Pregnancy & Parenting guidance, accommodation processes, and Title IX-related considerations.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $45,000 – $50,000 annually
