Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Clean driving record per Safe Driver Plan.
• CPR certification.
• School Bus Driver Certificate.
• Monthly safety meetings and annual training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operates school buses in compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Adheres to established schedules to safely pick up, transport, and discharge students and staff.
• Assists students and passengers for safe boarding and alighting, including wheelchairs and medical equipment.
• Maintains student discipline on the bus and coordinates with principals and transportation supervisors on incidents.
• Transports students and faculty on field trips and events; completes pre/post trip inspections.
• Notifies leadership of any mechanical defects and reports damage to buses.
• Keeps records and reports accidents, delays, and other pertinent information.
• Ensures secure restraint systems are used and maintained.
• Attends meetings and training sessions; supports route adjustments as needed.
