Job summary

Charter Schools USA is seeking a dedicated Bus Operator to transport students and staff to and from school and events. You will ensure safety, follow routes, and assist passengers with boarding and in emergencies.

Strong communication and a calm demeanor are essential for daily operations. Applicants should have a high school diploma, a valid CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, and be able to pass background checks and safety certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience coordinating or supporting transportation operations is preferred.
• Ability to use a computer and email for daily tasks and reporting.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential.
• Capability to read maps and follow routes accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate school buses in compliance with laws, policies and procedures.
• Maintain schedules to safely transport students and staff.
• Assist students entering and exiting buses, including in emergencies.
• Keep students disciplined and coordinate with principals and supervisors.
• Complete vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Ensure proper securing of passenger restraints and transport equipment.
• Maintain clean appearance of vehicles and keep records of bus operations.
