Job summary

Charter Schools USA is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead safe, reliable and compliant pupil transportation across its network of schools. You will supervise Transportation Leads and Coordinators, manage contracted bus services, and ensure alignment with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA and DOE requirements.

The role requires a strong background in transportation/logistics management, team leadership, and proficiency with routing tech, fleet systems and ERP tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in management, logistics or supply chain or 10 years of progressive transportation/logistics management experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
• Prefer 3-5 years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics or fleet management.
• 1+ years managing a team of 10+ employees including drivers with CDL.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, routing technology, fleet management systems, ERP systems and project management platforms (e.g., Monday.com).
• 2+ years of managerial experience with hiring and performance management.
• Experience with vendor performance discussions and issue resolution to satisfactory outcomes.
• Root cause analysis for bus incidents and coaching to align with company policies or compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assess needs and coordinate services and safety practices for pupil transportation.
• Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships with proactive communication.
• Ensure transportation functions comply with school board policies and regulations.
• Identify solutions for transportation operational excellence and safety.
• Facilitate group involvement and conduct professional meetings.
• Communicate with parents, school leaders, vendors and communities.
