Job summary

Assisted Transportation in Kansas is seeking an Assistant Student Transportation Operations Manager to support daily pupil transportation operations and keep safety and efficiency at the forefront. You will help with dispatch, routing, and regulatory compliance while coordinating with district staff and parents.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in transportation operations preferred, but training provided.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing daily transportation operations, including dispatch and routing support.
• Manage driver and aide scheduling, coverage, hours, and overtime in coordination with the Operations Manager.
• Maintain effective communication with district staff, parents, and school personnel.
• Supervise and support field staff, including interviewing, training, evaluating, and addressing performance concerns in partnership with HR.
• Monitor employee compliance, attendance, and personnel documentation.
• Ensure accurate completion of timecards, payroll documentation, and required reports.
• Respond to and investigate accidents and incidents, file insurance claims as needed.
• Support safety initiatives, training programs, and in-service meetings.
• Serve as back-up to drivers, aides, and the Operations Manager as needed.
