Job summary

North Attleboro Public Schools is seeking a highly organized Transportation Coordinator to oversee the District’s student transportation operations. This role acts as the primary liaison with the contracted transportation provider and district staff to ensure safe and reliable services.

The position involves supervising drivers and staff, coordinating routes, managing day-to-day fleet operations, and aligning with student IEP transportation requirements.

Qualifications

• Preferred: experience in school transportation, fleet operations, logistics, dispatching, or operations management.
• Experience supervising employees and managing schedules, routes, or other complex daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the District’s overall student transportation program (regular ed, special ed, other)
• Serve as liaison with contracted yellow-bus provider and other vendors
• Monitor routes, schedules, ridership, capacity, and service performance
• Manage day-to-day operation of district-operated transport vehicles
• Develop and adjust special education/specialized transport routes for efficiency
• Supervise drivers, monitors, scheduling, attendance, performance, coverage
• Coordinate substitute drivers and respond to staffing issues
• Work with Student Services to implement IEP transportation requirements
• Respond to questions from parents, schools, and staff
• Troubleshoot issues and develop timely solutions during disruptions
• Maintain transportation records and vehicle documentation
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance, inspections, and fleet records
• Monitor contractor performance and address service concerns
• Assist with planning, budgeting, invoicing, and cost control
• Ensure compliance with district policies and regulations
• Perform other transportation-related duties
