Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a LifeWise vehicle driver to provide safe transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The ideal candidate is responsible, punctual and maintains a clean driving record.

Responsibilities include transporting students and LifeWise volunteers, obeying traffic laws, ensuring bus safety and cleanliness, performing inspections, and creating a safe environment for children; participation in LifeWise classroom activities is possible with Director

Qualifications

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the Statement of Faith.
• Regular driver's license; continuously licensed for the past three years.
• CDL with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) for 15+ seating; or 15 passenger van with no special license.
• Age 21–80; additional documentation for drivers over 75 (physician's statement or CDL license with P endorsement).
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy; yearly underwriter-approved Physician's Statement for known medical conditions.
• Complete drug and/or alcohol testing as required (pre-employment, annual, and post-accidents).

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children.
• Enforce safety rules for students.
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle as needed.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the Director.
