Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a reliable LifeWise vehicle driver to transport public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The role emphasizes safety, punctuality, and a caring demeanor while maintaining a clean, safe bus environment.

Responsibilities include regular bus inspections, adherence to traffic laws, and possible classroom volunteering as agreed with the Director. Must meet all licensing, medical, and background check requirements.

Qualifications

• Must hold regular driver's license and have been licensed for the past three years.
• CDL with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) required for vehicles seating more than 15 passengers; 15-passenger van requires no special license.
• Age between 21 and 80; drivers over 75 may require additional documentation.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in the last five years.
• Undergo background check and yearly Physician's Statement for known medical conditions.
• Complete drug and/or alcohol testing as required (pre-employment, annual random, post-accidents).

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Enforce safety rules for students.
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the Director.
