Job summary

AVONDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Paraprofessional I or II to support students and staff in general education and exceptional student settings. You will assist with lesson planning, guide activities, and help ensure a productive learning environment.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, 60 college credits (or an Associate's degree), and clearance cards; ability to lift 30 pounds; strong English skills; First Aid/CPR certification; and background check

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 60 college credits (100 level or higher) or an Associate's degree.
• Valid AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
• Must pass a background check on employment.
• Must possess a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Assists in executing daily and long-range lesson planning.
• Conducts learning exercises with individual children or small groups.
• Guides children to work and play harmoniously.
• Alerts teacher to special needs of individual children.
• Provides escort and assistance to children as necessary.
• Supervises children in classroom, playground, and cafeteria.
• Maintains neat work and study areas; assists in preparing materials.
