Job summary

AVONDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT invites application for a Paraprofessional III to assist in self-contained special education classrooms. The role supports teachers, prepares materials, and helps implement IEP goals and classroom routines.

Position is 29.5 hours per week over 10 months, with a pay scale determined by the district. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and an IVP fingerprint clearance card, plus relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 60 college credits (100 level or higher) or an Associate's degree.
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• First Aid and CPR certification (district can provide if needed).
• Spanish and American Sign Language knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in formulating individualized student programs and classroom planning.
• Complete paperwork for individualized curricula and IEPs.
• Support students in activities, routines, and behavior plans.
• Supervise in cafeteria and playground as needed; accompany teachers on home visits.
• Assist with medical, hygiene, feeding, and personal care as required.
• Help prepare educational materials and maintain neat learning areas.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

60 college credits (100 level or higher) or an Associate's degree

Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card

First Aid and CPR certification

Spanish and ASL (preferred)
