Spokane Public Schools is seeking a dedicated paraeducator to provide continuous, individualized support to a student with disabilities during the school day, ensuring safe access to instruction and activities.

The role involves mobility assistance, health care procedures, data collection, collaboration with case managers, and adherence to IEP, 504, and safety plans; the position follows the district salary schedule with benefits.

Qualifications

• Provide mobility support and daily care within the school day.
• Perform delegated medical tasks as trained and documented.
• Assist student with accessing instruction and activities.
• Collaborate with educators and health staff on plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct mobility support: transfers, lifting, positioning, and daily care.
• Carry out delegated student-specific medical procedures as trained.
• Support personal care and toileting while preserving dignity.
• Assist the student in accessing instruction, meals, and activities.
• Implement IEPs, 504 plans, and safety plans with fidelity.
• Utilize adaptive equipment and assistive technology as trained.
• Monitor, collect, and document student data to guide interventions.
• Maintain communication with case managers, nursing staff, and admins.
• Complete required CPI, de-escalation, and safety trainings.
• Demonstrate physical ability to perform intensive support tasks.
