Job summary

Spokane Public Schools is seeking a Resource Room Paraeducator to support students with IEP goals in both special and general education settings. The role involves direct instructional support, data collection, and implementing accommodations under the guidance of the special education teacher.

Responsibilities include curriculum support in reading, English, social studies and math, plus clerical duties in the Resource program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits from an accredited college, AA or BA degree, OR pass an academically rigorous assessment.
• Core Competencies within one year if hired into a Paraeducator position.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher by providing direct instructional support and training to students with disabilities.
• Assist with designing and developing curriculum in reading, English, social studies, and math under teacher direction.
• Provide support to teacher regarding individual students and program needs and behavior concerns.
• Provide clerical support in the Resource program.
• Other duties as related and assigned.
