Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking an Instructional Para Educator to support licensed staff by helping individuals or small groups with basic curriculum work and reinforcing learning skills. You will prepare materials, monitor students, and record achievement while supporting classroom discipline.

Under supervision, you may assist with field trips, tests, and daily clerical tasks such as attendance and data entry. Previous experience is not required, but a positive, adaptable approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
• No professional work experience required.
• Title I assignments must meet one of the following: two years of college, associate degree, or equivalent knowledge in reading, writing, and math.
• Basic knowledge of typical office equipment and Microsoft Office.
• Intermediate English language skills and written communication.
• Advanced interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work alone and with others; maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in preparing materials, administering tests, grading, attendance, etc.
• Assist students with classroom activities and curriculum delivery to individuals and small groups.
• Monitor students and reinforce appropriate behavior during activities such as play, lunch, detention, or field trips.
• Perform basic clerical work for the teacher (typing, filing, data entry, etc.).
• Assist with other classroom events such as field trips or fire drills.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
