Job summary

East Baton Rouge Parish School System seeks a Time Out Room Moderator to supervise students assigned to the Time Out Room. The role requires managing disciplinary environments and assisting students with assignments when possible.

The ideal candidate has appropriate education credentials (high school diploma or higher, or college credits; secondary role requires a bachelor’s and teaching certificate) and will work under the immediate supervision of the supervisor, with training opportunities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 48 college credits with required courses, or an Associate's degree.
• For Secondary TOR Moderator: Bachelor's degree and valid teaching certificate.
• Parapro Exam score 450 on ETS Parapro.

Responsibilities

• Receives and processes students removed for disruptive behaviors.
• Maintains strict discipline environment.
• Assists students with assignments, if applicable.
• Consults individually and/or in groups the students assigned to the Time Out Room.
• Notifies parents/guardians and appropriate school personnel of the students assigned to the Time Out Room.
• Maintains accurate records related to the Time Out Room.
• Monitors completion of class work.
• Provides follow-up to students, parents and teachers.
• Engages in continuous training and staff development.
