Job summary

East Baton Rouge Parish School System is seeking a Time Out Room Moderator to supervise students assigned to the Time Out Room and ensure a conducive environment for behavior management and learning support.

The role requires either a high school diploma (or equivalent) with college credits or an associate degree for elementary level, or a bachelor’s degree with a valid teaching certificate for secondary level; computer and email proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Elementary TOR Moderator: HS diploma or equivalent,OR 48 college credits with required courses; OR Associate's degree; or 450 on ETS Parapro Exam.
• Secondary TOR Moderator: Bachelor's degree and valid teaching certificate.
• Proficiency with general computer use and email is required.

Responsibilities

• Receives and processes students removed for disruptive behaviors.
• Provides an environment with strict discipline.
• Assists students with assignments when applicable.
• Consults individually and/or in groups the students assigned to the Time Out Room.
• Notifies parents/guardians and appropriate school personnel about the students assigned to the Time Out Room.
• Maintains accurate, complete records related to the Time Out Room.
• Monitors completion of assigned class work.
• Provides follow-up to students, parents and teachers.
• Engages in continuous training and staff development.
