Job summary

Interactive College of Technology is seeking a Student Retention Specialist for the Pasadena Main Campus. This role guides advisees toward graduation, maintains monthly check-ins, and supports student success across the VESL program.

The ideal candidate will monitor participation, update records, assist with pre-registration and withdrawal processes, and help graduates explore further academic options. A.S. degree and related experience required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong ability to help students set and achieve academic goals.
• Experience in advising or counseling students toward successful outcomes.
• Teaching experience is a plus; bilingual/multilingual candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Get familiar with VESL program materials and support student graduation.
• Meet advisees at orientation and maintain regular monthly contact.
• Monitor attendance and participation; track progress weekly.
• Keep student contact information current and report to Registrar.
• Assist with pre-registration and re-entry planning for students.
• Guide students through withdrawal procedures and re-entry dates as needed.
• Complete the Documentation of Student Outcome form and accreditation records.
• Use reports to determine if advisees are ready to register or return.
• Encourage graduates to pursue additional academic options.
