Job summary

Potomac Community Services is seeking a Student Navigator to support students, families, and school staff in Washington County, MD. You will help with attendance, engagement, and connecting families to community resources, while coordinating with schools and providers to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4-year degree (related human service degree preferred but not required).
• Minimum of 1 year youth work with youth under 18.
• Volunteer/internship experience may be counted.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests from school staff, students, caregivers, and community partners.
• Maintain professional relationships with WCPS staff, PCS team, CHRC-funded providers, and partners.
• Serve as a liaison between PCS, WCPS, families, and community agencies.
• Coordinate with school-based teams and community providers for role clarity and continuity of care.
• Connect eligible students and families to long-term, sustainable supports and services.
• Motivate and support students to attend school regularly and stay engaged.
• Implement strategies to improve attendance, engagement, and academic performance.
• Deliver services coordinated across home, school, and community resources.
• Learn and implement required evidence-based programs with fidelity.
• Apply culturally responsive practices to engage diverse families.
