Qualifications

• Requires 90 college credits from an accredited college or university.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid Michigan teacher’s certificate preferred.
• Experience with diverse learning needs.”

Responsibilities

• Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
• Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement programs.
• Assists professional staff in administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments.
• Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills for individual needs.
• Maintains record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
• Supports classroom behavioral management to ensure a safe, orderly environment.
• Supervises students in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus duty, playground, study hall, etc.).
• Accompanies students on field trips to assist with supervision.
