Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Higher Education Leadership, Counseling, Student Personnel Services, or a related field.
• Experience in academic advising, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Ability to analyze and interpret student data to inform advising practices and retention initiatives.
• Experience at an institution comparable in size and mission to FVSU with professional standards in advising and student success.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement advising and registration activities for the SEA Center.
• Develop, implement, and assess academic advising goals with SEA Center leadership.
• Design and deliver training programs for Academic Advisors to ensure high-quality services.
• Provide timely updates on students' academic performance to advisors and support staff.
• Collect, analyze, and review student data to identify trends, retention, and outcomes.
• Oversee and coordinate the activities of the academic advising unit.
• Plan, develop, and implement policies and programs affecting students and campus coordination.
• Compile and present reports, proposals, and recommendations related to advising.
