Job summary

Roane State Community College in Tennessee seeks a Success Coach to provide holistic student support and academic advising. You will guide students through enrollment, admissions, financial aid, and class scheduling, acting as a mentor from enrollment to graduation in collaboration with faculty advisors.

The role emphasizes coordinating with college personnel, identifying at-risk students, and maintaining detailed records while supporting students across the academic journey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; must obtain within first full term semester.
• Experience in Advising, Admissions, Records, Financial Aid, or Student Enrollment.
• Experience with students in/out of the classroom.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Experience with Banner Software a plus.
• Must be willing to travel to other RSCC campuses.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in applying for admissions to the college.
• Assist students with career exploration and choice of academic major.
• Develop an Academic Plan for timely degree completion.
• Help students access academic, financial, and personal resources.
• Serve as an academic advisor, coach and mentor students.
• Coordinate with college personnel to resolve barriers to student success.
• Identify at-risk students and facilitate interventions.
• Maintain flexible schedule for advisement appointments.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff on support delivery.
• Assist with admissions, financial aid requirements and SAP appeals.
• Promote visibility of Student Success Coach to students and faculty.
• Collaborate on individual student success strategies with faculty.
