• Assists students in evaluating aptitudes and abilities through interpretation of tests and data to plan education and occupation paths.
• Develops special abilities of students.
• Addresses students' educational handicaps and supports their learning needs.
• Registers new students and orients them to school procedures and opportunities.
• Helps students evaluate career interests and choices.
• Provides counseling to promote personal growth, self-understanding, and maturity.
• Counsels students individually on personal problems related to home, health, and emotional adjustment.
• Guides student participation in school and community activities.
• Confers with parents when needed.
• Assists in orienting new faculty members.
• Works with teachers and staff to familiarize them with services offered by student personnel services and improve educational prospects for counseled students.
• Interprets the school's objectives to students, parents, and the community at large.
• Other duties as assigned.
