Job summary

The Boston Architectural College seeks a Student Advocate to serve as the first point of contact for students, helping them navigate registration, financial aid, billing, payments, advising and student life. This is a full-time exempt position with a 40-hour work week.

The role emphasizes proactive, student-centered service, triage of needs, and collaboration with campus offices to resolve issues and escalate when needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in customer service or hospitality preferred.
  • Experience in a college or university setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive, professional, and friendly service in all interactions.
  • Manage communication between students and administrative functions (emails and phones).
  • Assess each student's situation to determine urgency and proceed accordingly.
  • Resolve problems and escalate when needed; follow up daily until resolution.
  • Document all communication accurately in the student information system.
  • Work as part of a team to guide students in all aspects of their administrative experience.
  • Understand administrative processes from a student perspective (aid, payments, registration).
  • Provide feedback to leadership on trends or escalated concerns.
  • Assist with requested documents for financial aid, registration, housing, and student accounts.
  • Support Registrar with student file management and archiving workflows.
