Job summary

The University of Minnesota Crookston invites applications for an Academic Advisor and Tutoring Services Coordinator. Located in the Student Success Center, this full-time role reports to the Director of Student Success and Academic Advising and includes managing a partial academic advising caseload while coordinating tutoring services across online and on-campus programs.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree plus at least four years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree plus at least two years of relevantexperience.
• Demonstrated self-awareness, cultural competence, andachievement in working with diverse student, faculty, and staffpopulations.
• Demonstrated understanding of student development and advisingbest practices.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communicationskills.
• High level of organizational skills and attention todetail.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated support to online and on-campus students by applying knowledge of curricular options and policies to assist an assigned advising caseload.
• Review student records and progress, making short-term registration suggestions and multi-semester plans.
• Meet with students in-person or via virtual video conferencing to provide guidance on course selection and degree progress.
