Job summary

The University of Connecticut One Stop Student Services seeks a dynamic, positive, and motivated Student Success Specialist to join our team. The role focuses on providing exemplary customer service in a high-traffic public area and contributing to complex projects in financial aid, admissions, and registrar functions.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director for Financial Aid, the successful candidate will spend ~80% of time on phone calls and emails with students and families, ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field by the start of the appointment.
• Two years full-time employment in a related area or equivalent.
• Experience in a high-volume, rapidly changing customer service setting.
• Experience providing clear and professional oral and written communications to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated administrative, organizational and problem-solving aptitude.
• Experience working with electronic data processing systems or related technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary customer service through answering questions via phone, e-mail, and in-person.
• Guide students and families in completing necessary paperwork such as admissions, FAFSA, and class registration.
• Escalate complex cases to the Assistant Director as needed.
• Maintain and stay up to date on regulations for student records, financial aid, and admission (FERPA).
• Manage data entry and documentation with accuracy and in accordance with policies.
• Participate in education/outreach and special projects as assigned.
