You will teach First Year Seminar sections, support Early Alerts interventions, and meet with students returning from suspensions to discuss strategies for improvement. The role includes updating advising materials and liaising with faculty and staff.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Prior work experience in higher education advising or student development.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational ability with attention to detail.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other office technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising to an assigned caseload of students and monitor progress toward degree completion.
• Teach two sections of a First Year Seminar course per academic year or develop related curricula.
• Serve as the primary Early Alerts intervention contact for the college and coordinate with faculty and staff.
• Meet with students returning from academic suspension or dismissal to discuss strategies for success.
• Act as a liaison between students, faculty, staff and administration and maintain advising materials.
