Job summary

East Side House seeks a Student Advisor for GWHS YABC in New York. You will manage a caseload of high school students, conduct outreach, and coordinate with counselors to support credits, graduation, and post-secondary plans.

The role involves FAFSA guidance, college applications, and employment opportunities while maintaining records in Salesforce and Google Suite. The position requires a BA/BSW and at least two years in youth services, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum BA/BSW degree is required with at least two years youth services experience.
• Excellent verbal, analytical, writing, communication, organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and multi-task.
• Strong interpersonal skills and time management skills.
• Knowledge of community service/development; WordPerfect/MS Word/Google Suite.
• Experience with Teams, Zoom, and other collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Be primary contact for a caseload of approximately 60-70 students.
• Conduct daily attendance, academic, and social-emotional outreach.
• Conduct intake interviews with students and family members (remote if needed).
• Refer students to academic and support services as needed.
• Consult with guidance counselors on credits, graduation date, post-secondary plans.
• Consult with teachers and provide feedback on academic performance.
• Maintain student charts and records to track milestones.
• Attend administrative meetings, trainings and staff development.
• Meet with caseload in group or individual settings using remote platforms.
• Educate students and parents about colleges, FAFSA and applications.
• Document all interactions in Salesforce/Google Suite and other data systems.
• Participate in civic/community building efforts via East Side House.
